If you’ve wondered why I haven’t posted much new art lately…here’s why

Most of it’s gone into my new book for 2007!

Here’s a peek at a few pics!

The book is only Hardcover this time, 48 pages, full color, 8.5″x12″ with a retail price of $24.95. (yup, it’s even got a UPC bar code on the back cover :))

I’ll have a preview copy on hand at WonderCon in San Francisco this weekend. The book won’t be available until the week of March 12, 2007. So at the show (and on the blog here) I’ll be offering free shipping (!) to anyone that pre-orders the book before the 12th. (Paypal only for online orders). Either email me first or just send payment to joe@joepekar.com for $24.95 and I’ll take care of the rest (and maybe I’ll even do a sketch in the book for ya ;)). (I’ll also update everyone as to when the books will be shipped)

To be honest, I’m really excited about this book…I put a lot of work into it and feel it’s my best work yet. It’s a little different stylistically than my previous books, but I feel like it’s a nice evolution of my art (if I may be so pretentious ;)).

From the beginning I knew I wanted to do something different that what’s been seen in Pigtails and Naughty Girls…well, not completely different…it’s still all girls, as most of you know, that’s really all I enjoy drawing :). I also wanted to experiment more with color relationships, mood and brushwork. So hopefully you’ll all enjoy the results!

And don’t forget, come by table D20 at WonderCon this weekend to check out the book…and then in two weeks I’ll be back in Cali for Wizard World LA. (Where I should have copies of the book for sale at the show.) And I’ll still be sitting with Alberto Ruiz and Sean ‘Cheeks’ Galloway at both shows again, so it should be entertaining for everyone

I’m gonna bring the camera this time…but no promises for any pictures ;).
