Supercon! Supercool!

Well, I spent my weekend in Hollywood, Florida for the ‘Florida Supercon’ show. Wow! what a crazy show
It was held in a weird mall-turned hotel mess of a building. There was no dealers or artists sections, everyone just seemed spread out all over, down hallways, thru doors, etc. (I was next a tabe selling old nintendo games). I didn’t have high hopes when I got there
But then they came, so many people showed up for the show, I was amazed. Lots of costumes too, which is always fun. So many cute girls too. And I say that strictly as a professional artist of upstanding nature  Seriously though, the costumed people always seem to be the friendliest, nicest people at a show. Except for the people that come to my table. They’re always friendly, no matter how they’re dressed ![]()
I really can’t believe how many great people I met at this show. And thanks to everyone that bought books/sketches/whatever or just chatted. I also got some fanart from one girl (who is a terrific artist I must say) and I was asked to do a sketch of another girl that looked like she belonged in my books, just really cute, fun and playful. (and got a hug from each of them…so who can complain?! I had a great time :))
and thru out the whole show, I didn’t take one damn picture! I forgot the camera on Saturday and Sunday I was so busy/pre-occupied I didn’t even have a chance to take a pic. Not even when a girl dressed in the Princess Leia Slave girl outfit bought my book! Ok for that one I was just amazed she was able carry money around with her in that costume
Managed to do a couple watercolor pieces at the show, so hopefully I’ll get them posted if anyone sends me pictures of them ;). I also sold the two zombie paintings in my Junkdrawer gallery. Junk Drawer. I was sad to see them go, but they went to a good home at Tate’s Comics click to see the store’s site…where maybe they’ll get to attack other artwork and make more zombie art
(Oh, and I almost forgot! special thank you to a certain Star Trek fan that really helped me out during the show! )
Off to Wizard World Texas on Friday, I’ll be at table 2490 in Artists Alley (again sharing a table with friend Alberto Ruiz). Never been to Texas before, so it should be enlightening, right?
