Well, the Wizard World show in Philadelphia has come and gone (my second time there)…and what a great show it was! I had such a great time! Got to meet a bunch of terrific people…artists, fans, friends…(oh and big thanks to my sister and brother in law for letting me stay at their place and for driving me everywhere )
The Pigtails book went over really well at the show, so that was nice to see. A lot of artist’s picked it up for the Painter Tutorial in the book, so that was really cool. I also had preview copies of my Naughty Girls book being published by SQP. I was sorry to disappoint so many people when I told them it wasn’t for sale yet. (Should be here in about 2 weeks they’ve told me.) Oh, and SQP updated their coming soon section with my books on there, so check it out (they have a few thumbnail samples of the book on there.) Click here and check the coming soon section
And how could I not mention how great it was sitting with Alberto Ruiz. I’ve already said too many nice things about him in other posts, so I’ll just say this…if you love art and the female form and don’t have any of his books, you’re missing out! Go order his books now, you won’t be dissapointed! Click here for Alberto’s Blog!
Now the big dissapointment of the show was that I was so busy and having so much fun chatting with folks that I didn’t take a single picture all weekend! I also did a ton of sketches for folks (and not one request for any porn! Hurray! Ok, lots of naked girls were asked for, but that’s ok. LOL) So…if I did a sketch for you at the show, can you take a picture or scan it and mail to me? I’ll post it up on the site somewhere.
(Oh, and thanks to Kai for making copies of the Poison Ivy sketch I did for him. That was too nice for anyone that’s from New York! LOL…just kidding)
oh and if you stopped by the table on saturday afternoon, you might have seen a very cute and friendly girl sitting next to me. That was Lauren Perry who writes a column on popcultureshock.com called ‘Fangirl Rampage’ (interviews with female comic book fans.) Click here to read some of the interviews. And her boyfriend Chris is quite a good artist and did a cartoon for each interview. Click here to see Chris’ site She’s a very nice girl and talked more than a few people into picking up the Pigtails book. So thanks again Lauren!
I also managed to do some drawing on the plane late last night, so here’s one I scanned:
(I was looking forward to getting home and this is what came out )
Oh, and for the people that orderd ‘Pigtails’ online while I was gone over the weekend, those were sent out today
Unfortunately I didn’t get up much from the table, so i’m sure I missed out on talking with other artists and friends. anyway, I’m sure I’m forgetting plenty…if anything comes back to me, I’ll post more later
